Mount Zion exists to help ordinary people grow into mature, resilient followers of Jesus—not through hype, pressure, or personality-driven programs, but through shared life, shared Scripture, and long-term faithfulness.
We believe discipleship happens best in community, over time, as people learn to follow Jesus together in real life.
What That Looks Like Practically
- Sunday Gatherings focused on worship, Scripture, prayer, and teaching
- Small groups where relationships deepen and questions are welcomed
- Book-by-book Bible reading and study, both in person and online
- Intergenerational community, where faith is modeled, not just explained
We are not a church of endless programs. We are a church committed to forming people who know what they believe, why they believe it, and how to live it out with humility and courage.
If you are looking for a place to grow slowly, honestly, and deeply, you will feel at home here.
Life Together at Mount Zion
Ministry at Mount Zion is not about filling calendars or creating religious activity. It’s about walking with one another as we learn to follow Jesus faithfully in real life.
Everything we do is shaped by our commitment to community, discipleship, grace, and care for people as whole human beings.
Community Groups
A Place to Belong
Community groups meet every Sunday at 11:00 AM, immediately following our main service.
Anyone is welcome to stay, grab coffee and snacks, and spend time connecting with others. These groups are designed to open the door to deeper relationships and shared life, but there is no pressure to participate in any particular way.
In community groups, people:
- Talk about their week—wins, struggles, and everything in between
- Reflect on the sermon together and think through how it applies to everyday life
- Pray for one another if they’d like
- Get to know one another at a pace that feels comfortable
You are welcome to talk, listen, pray, or simply be present. Community groups are meant to be a safe and welcoming environment for connection, not a performance or obligation.
Children’s Ministry
Growing Deep Roots of Faith
Our children’s ministry is led by a dedicated team who care for and protect children with the same attention they would give their own.
Children are taught the Bible book by book, from Genesis through Revelation, so that over time they grow familiar with the whole story God tells and learn what it means to trust Him, walk with Him, and know His love.
When Kids Meet
- Sundays, 10:00 AM – 12:00 PM
(during the main service and community groups) - Wednesdays at 7:00 PM
(during the adult prayer group)
During children’s ministry, kids:
- Play games
- Have snacks
- Learn to pray with and for one another
- Engage deeply with the week’s lesson
Families are welcome to attend Sundays, Wednesdays, or both—children can jump in at any point without missing a step.
Partnering With Parents
Our goal is not only to disciple children, but to support parents. We want to walk alongside moms and dads in raising children who know the Lord, love Him, and learn to worship Him as a family at home throughout the week.
You don’t have to do the work of discipleship alone. We’re here to support you in whatever ways are helpful to your family.
Men’s Ministry
Becoming Faithful Men Together
The men’s ministry meets one Saturday morning each month throughout the year.
Men gather for:
- Men’s breakfasts
- Retreats
- Service projects
- Meeting needs in the community
- Supporting people who are struggling or in need
A core part of the men’s ministry is connecting younger men with older men for mentorship, encouragement, and guidance—learning how to follow Jesus faithfully as husbands, fathers, and servants of others.
We believe men are worthy of love, dignity, and respect. We believe that inside every man is a warrior—not one who fights with violence, but one who stands against despair and darkness with love, courage, and faithfulness.
Women’s Ministry
Walking Together in Faith
The women’s ministry meets on the first Monday of each month, except during holidays and summer months.
Women gather to:
- Worship together
- Build deep relationships
- Support one another through life’s joys and challenges
- Grow together in faith
- Serve the community through shared meals and acts of care
All women are welcome, regardless of background or church involvement. The women’s ministry is a place of connection, encouragement, and mutual support.
Discipleship
Growing From Faith to Faithfulness
Discipleship is at the heart of everything we do.
Our desire is not simply to fill our heads with knowledge, but to help people grow into faithful, wise, and mature followers of Jesus—people who live out God’s mission in the world and help others do the same.
We practice discipleship by:
- Personally investing in people
- Mentoring newer or younger believers
- Walking alongside those seeking guidance
- Helping people grow from spiritual infancy to spiritual adulthood
Discipleship may happen one-on-one or in small groups, always grounded in relationship, grace, and patience.
Our goal is to raise up people who are equipped to love others, serve faithfully, and invest in the lives of those around them.
Counseling
At Mount Zion, we believe the church exists not only to gather on Sundays, but to walk with people through the real struggles of life.
At some point, we all face:
- Marital and relationship struggles
- Parenting challenges
- Anxiety and depression
- Addiction and destructive patterns
- Financial stress
- Grief, loss, and major life transitions
- Questions about faith, purpose, and identity
We want to walk alongside you through these seasons—not as people who have everything figured out, but as fellow travelers who have also been wounded, healed, and restored by God’s grace.
Our counseling is pastoral, relational, and supportive.
We do not approach people as problems to be fixed or projects to be managed. We approach people as human beings who matter, who are worthy of care, attention, patience, and honesty.
We believe healing often happens slowly, through trust, truth, and faithful presence.
We do not see Scripture and thoughtful psychological insight as enemies. We seek to hold them together responsibly, always with humility and care for the person in front of us.
Counseling at Mount Zion is:
- A safe place to talk honestly
- A space for prayer, reflection, and guidance
- A relational process grounded in trust
- A support alongside community and discipleship
Counseling at Mount Zion is not:
- A replacement for licensed clinical therapy when that is needed
- A one-size-fits-all solution
- A place of judgment, shame, or pressure
When professional or specialized care is needed, we are committed to helping people seek appropriate support beyond the church as well.
Reaching Out for Care
There is no shame in needing help.
If you are struggling, feeling overwhelmed, or simply need someone to walk with you for a season, we want you to know you are not alone—and that reaching out is an act of courage, not weakness.
Care is offered confidentially, respectfully, and at a pace shaped by your needs.
